Electrical Diagnostics & Support
Electronics Fault Diagnosis and EMC Remediation, New Zealand
Deep-dive diagnostics and support that turn unstable hardware into production-grade systems.
A board that "mostly works" is a board with a fault that hasn't been found yet. Intermittent resets, protocol errors that only show up under load, EMC failures that appear at the compliance lab and nowhere else, these problems don't resolve with guesswork, and they get more expensive the longer they sit in the field.
MicroCore provides electrical diagnostics and support for existing electronics, legacy products, unstable prototypes, and hardware that failed compliance testing. We specialise in board bring-up and signal-integrity testing, using oscilloscopes and logic analysers to trace faults down to the protocol level, not just the symptom.
Diagnostics & Support Services
Each service targets a specific failure mode, from first power-on through to compliance sign-off.
Board Bring-Up
First-power validation on new hardware, confirming rail sequencing, current draw, and basic functionality match the design before firmware development or volume testing begins.
Signal-Integrity Testing
Oscilloscope and logic analyser work to trace timing violations, ringing, and marginal signal quality back to their source, layout, termination, or component selection.
Protocol-Level Fault Diagnosis
CAN bus, Bluetooth, and serial protocol faults diagnosed at the bus level, bus-off events, malformed frames, and intermittent dropouts traced to a root cause, not patched around.
EMC Compliance Remediation
Diagnosis and rework for hardware that has failed or is at risk of failing EMC/EMI testing, grounding, filtering, and layout changes targeted at the specific failure, not a blanket redesign.
From Unstable Prototype to Production Hardware
Diagnostics work stops at a root cause, not a workaround.
Persistent legacy bugs and marginal EMC results usually share a common thread, a design decision made early that never got revisited once the symptom appeared elsewhere. We trace the fault back to that decision rather than treating the symptom in isolation, so the fix holds under the same conditions that caused the original failure.
This applies equally to a board that's never worked reliably and a product that's been in the field for years and has started showing intermittent failures as components age or environmental exposure accumulates.

Describe the fault, when it occurs, and what's been tried so far.
Send through the symptoms and any existing test data. Direct technical questions are welcome.
